Normal occurrence in a turbo motor.
How much oil sitting in the bottom of the intercooler is normal?
I'm doing the timing belt on my Polo, so I've taken the piping off the bottom of the intercooler and a little bit of oil dripped out. I stuck my finger inside it and it came out oily.
I wouldn't say there was a lot of oil, it didn't run out, just a few drips and a coating in the bottom of the IC. It'd probably be all soaked up by a 10cm square piece of rag, but still, it's more than nothing and I've never owned a turbo car before

Yeah, pretty much unavoidable on a turbo engine.

Just means you need to drive it harder haha I had the same problem when I pulled the standard side mount off and went front mount. There was a lot of oil in my cooler after 100k
Even my Landcruiser did that Cleaned it all out once when I found oil dripping a bit from a hose joint. A month later it was back Toyota said perfectly normal

On the race car I wash the intercooler out with a 50/50 solution of kero and metho after every outing. Then I hose it out with water, stand it up vertically and dry in the sun.
