New Tyre - Achilles ATR Sport
Tyre Size - 205/4/17
Old Tyre - Conti
Km's On Old Tyre - 60000km
Km's On New Tyre - 200km
The conti's were good and that included 4000k's around Tassie enjoying as many Targa roads we could find. Have been wanting them to wear out for a year. Even with 132 KATW they refused to give in.
The Achilles ATR Sports at $115 F&B by Jax at Browns Plains. They feel maybe harder in the sidewall, so far. No noise issue and still breaking them in. So not sure what I think yet. TBA.

I cannot understand how that is possible. i don't disbelieve you, but I think maybe tyre sets vary?? I dragged 40,000 on mine and they were shot. And lots of that was driving at 100kmh backwards and forwards for 200km 5 days a week for 6 months. And I don't really drive it that hard.
I would NEVER buy them again based on the fact that if you would frown at them they would go flat or get a sidewall-bulge. Weak as p.i.s.s. I ended up almost dating my tyre store woman I was in there so often....
I got 15k out of my original Conit's
Car - 07 Polo GTI
Rim Size - 17x8
New Tyre - Pirelli P Zero Nero
Tyre Size - 215/40/17
Old Tyre - Bridgestone RE001
Km's On Old Tyre - 22000
Km's On New Tyre - 7000km
Anyone want some slightly used Pirelli's?? Whilst i'm sure they're actually quite fine for most, they are in no way, shape, or form, as good as the Bridgestone. These are noisy, stiff as buggery, and loose.
In comparison, anyway. I'm sure they're better than the cheap stuff thats out these days, but I don't like 'em!
Can't wait to get back to Bridgestone and try some RE002s.

Has anyone tried the Michelin PS3s? I've had heard nothing but good reviews about it.
Actually I was surprised that many GTI owners were changing them before they even hit 30,000. I dont know how its possible that mine have lasted that long. I still havent changed them since my last post and I am very close to hitting 80,000kms. They do need changing now the tread is down to the wear indicator on the tyres. I still haven't decided what tyres to get next.
Anyone know if the Conti's CS3 are any good and do they make them in the right size to fit over the stock GTI rims.
best tyres for the polo are Yokohama advan neova. i am honestly glued to the road and it doesnt take much to warm them up. they are a soft tyre but i will never go back to continental tyres. i went through 3 tyres in 6 months because every pothole i seemed to go over destroyed a tyre. they are also shocking once they get a bit slippery in the wet.
No doubt, a race-bred semi slick is great on the street. A clear winner.
