    Car - 07 Polo GTI
    Rim size - 16"
New tyre - Marangoni Zeta Linea
    Tyre size - 205/45/16
Tyre Replaced - Conti SportContact 2
    Km's on new tyre - 2000 km
Thoughts on new tyre - Changed the Conti's after 48000km. The Marangonis are really nice in the dry! Lots of grip for both turning and accelerating, car feels more connected to the road, steering feels more direct. However, they're pretty terrible in the wet. I almost slid off a roundabout into the kerb the other day because the tyres just wouldn't grip to turn.

Continental Sport Contact 1 update: after a couple thousand kms on them and one very hard trip over nebo i got to say these are great tyres. NOTE these ARE NOT CSC2's but 1's which retail at about 280each.
I am also being very careful over potholes etc but havent had any problems with the sidewalls yet, touchwood

What made you get these over the CSC2's ? They look fairly similar, maybe the CSC1's look like they'd be better at dispersing water in the wet. Anyway, just curious as to why you bought Continentals given the side wall issues that seem to occur.

My new car in Aug 07 had 4 x conts and 1 x Dunlop Sport Max as the spare! I'm guessing the dealer did something odd.

    hey guys.

my contis are on their last legs so got some good quotes on some kuhmo ku31's but cant decide whether or not to stay with 205/45's or get the 205/50's. I know its not much of a change but are there any negatives?

Overall good tyre, but I only drove on them for 500kms, as I am the new owner of this car.

I still have brand new Kuhmos on the car though, they have been rotated to the back, they seem good, handling is good, but I do need new control arm bushes, so maybe better to report back once they are done.

Km's on new tyre - not to many
Thoughts on new tyre - My contis were pretty much dead when I changed them so bit hard to compare. The kuhmos definitely seem quieter in most situations and grip wise very happy for the price. Compared to the contis they seem much more progressive and give you plenty of warning when reaching their limits and sidewall does seem better and dose not look flat when parked. In the wet id have to say very similar to my previous ones which themselves I found excellent, overall they are still improving, as not fully run in yet, but very happy.
