There are Advans for the road (Sport/dB/AD08/ZPS) and Advans for the track (A048/A050).

No idea about the road ones but the A048s (and almost certainly the A050s as well) are rubbish on road - incredibly noisy, harsh riding and noticable drag, slowing acceleration and eating fuel, plus they wear stupidly fast.

They do corner/brake/drive ridiculously well, though, to the point where you can get a sore neck over 20km of winding roads while scaring yourself silly trying to even approach their limits.

Skinny (175) Michelin XM2s are MUCH more fun for road use and are immensely more refined.

    HI everyone,

Looking at replacing two of the tyres on my Polo GTi, front two are already falken 912's, with a couple of cheapies (roadstones) on the back thanks to the old owner. Looking to replace these with two more falken 912s or TOyo proxes 4. Can get them both for the same price per tyre so looking for some feedback on which is better for Canberra (very cold, can be very hot, slippery and drizzly, I like to drive pretty conservatively with the occasional speedy run, would like long life tyres that are fairly comfy for those syd-canberra trips) At the moment I can get both tyres for about $125 each not fitted

    Thanks!

Im up for some new tyres soon and after going through this thread I think I may have set a record on here.

The GTI is just shy, by a few hundred, of hitting 70,000 and im still on the Contis that came with the car when I bought it new. No its not a type-o, the car is almost on seventy thousand kilometers on the original Contis. They still have about 1mm before it hits the tread wear marker.

The car has been APR flashed at around 5,000kms and it probably only done about 10kms with the flash turned off (standard tune). Although the car has never seen a race track I dont drive it like a grandma, corners have been great fun in the GTI since fitting the rear Whiteline swaybar a few years ago.

I was going to get another set of the CS2 (got only one quote at $215) but came on here to see what other options I had. I am surprised there are quite a few who really dont like the CS2.

Now im not sure if I should stay with the CS2 or try something else. I been happy with the CS2 but after reading through here, there may be better options.

Wow, that is a record for a performance tyre.
I think most of the negative comments about the CSC2's have been due to the relatively soft sidewalls that make the car feel a little less taught than some other brands (as well as being more easily damaged by kerb strikes). They are a lighter tyre as a result which is good for suspension control and acceleration/decceleration.

If you're happy with them, there's no reason to get another tyre ($215 a corner for 205/45R16 sounds great - I had to pay more for a 195/55R15 CPC2)

jasn78 ozzy tyres or saveontyres.com.au i think. They were on special for that price, might normally be a bit more. Those prices are also unfitted. Would you go the PX4s over the Falkens? I'm leaning towards the Falkens, i think the PX4s might wear a bit too quickly for me
