I think this might be more something you would need to do on a different day. Changing (even the easiest) parts isn't exactly that quick, and it wouldn't be worth taking the car off while you fit it as that would also waste time.
Obviously it depends on the timetable but surely the 1 part can't make too much difference given that by the 3rd one your car would be warmer and heatsoak could effect the figures making it look worse. It's not exactly a major power increasing mod.

Dont worry too much - the forge tip makes little difference in HP / Torque so its not going to be a big factor. The intake differences we will see form the Airflow - Grams per second so it won't be too hard to work them out!

You will see the same with the DV - there is no increase in HP, but what you do see is how clean it is when you back off the throttle and it has to open & close.

If we still have our Polo, we will bring it - its 100% stock now!

Changing a diverter takes 5mins. Doing 5 runs an hour means on average 1 every 10mins with 10mins for positioning the car on the dyno itself. So, it can easliy be done.

As per the previous dyno day, all the FMIC cars had 3 runs and every one made more power on the 3rd run than the 1st..... All the SMIC cars dropped in power for every consequtive run, the only difference was 1 that had the bonnet opened for the 3rd run.

My main reason is that if you have a boost gauge you will see boost spike at around 1.2-1.3bar on a chipped car and and then eventually taper off to about .9bar. According to Guy all the GTI's does this. I would like to know if it is due to a weak actuator spring (as suggested by Shane) or the diverter. If we could determine that some diverters prevent this then it actually becomes a major power mod.

1.3bar makes much more power than .9bar

You unchipped it? Surely that's a really cheap way (for you) of increasing sale value?

It's still chipped though ? (can be if we need it I suppose)

Also, if you still have the CDA from it, could be worthwhile attaching it to 1 of the cars and run it "dodgy KAI" way in place of the other intakes to the front (bonnet open) just to see the difference for a laugh....

I would love to run mine but the above quote may rule me out. So its better if the spot goes to someone else in case.

depending on the date and whether or not i will be back from o/s, i could be both the 'just chipped' and stocko cos i just have the APR ECU (obviously which can be switched off).
