    Because I have OCD, and if I don't cover them it will bug me. My Jetta has these, and I think they look pretty neat.

    that's cheap for a cap. Toyota charge about $20 each as well.

    the oem caps must be of higher build quality than the ebay caps

    I lost one of mine in the first few weeks of ownership of the R. Because the wheels are 18s and specific to the model or some crap the caps are about $27 each and I had to wait a week for them to dig up the right part number and then ship them up from Sydney.
    Apparently when you poke them in the plastic clips on the edge basically break off due to the ****ty quality of the plastic they use. Probably the crappiest part that VW actually make and they charge you a bomb for them.

    It's called Silastic.Centre caps come loose [mainly on the front]when you track the car due to the heat build up and subsequent cool down.
    A little bit of Silastic or similar on the edges seems to do the trick...
