Is that with Torque, I can see it in my S3, I just picked a new gauge and scrolled down until I found boost.

    Has to be there.

We don't have a boost sensor. Using VCDS there is a readout, but its not a sensor measurement, thus why the cool digital displays in the TT's dont show boost in our Polo.

Or so I believe / remember when I looked into it 2 years back.

its estimated from the MAF and something else, I don't think its excessive, but is a little higher than what you might see from a sensor / meter.

Its not including ambient is it (sitting at 1 bar, 14psi) when idling is it?

I just looked at the install PDF for the Forge FMIC they call it a MAP sensor in there. Manifold Absolute Pressure, VW call them thrust sensors in ETKA.

    http://www.forgemotorsport.com/media/FMINTPOLO.pdf page 17 item 28

EDIT, 23 PSI as peak isn't silly, could be overboosting a touch but I don't see it blowing up. You would need to look at requested and actual boost at the same time for a proper comparison.

Not claiming to be an expert here, but I believe its different. Having done a little logging earlier, I remember it used the MAF readings, not the MAP sensor. Again, not 100%.

Some interesting info in the wiki: MAP sensor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I had thought the MAP sensor was used for fueling, protection and N75 regulation, but I can't be assed working out where I got that from or how accurate it is (reading on places like Vortex can be blind leading the blind).

If you go for a bluetooth dongle you should probably get one of these:

Scroll down a bit for an image, it reads ECU block values just like VCDS. jazd has one working with Torque on Android, he's making a label file for it. According to him a few posts down, the adapter is wbh-BT4 $70 or so from Germany.
