    Not having a good week

I hit a wombat the other week with my 97 Polo, it took out everything below the bumper including the radiator. To make things worse I had to keep driving for 10ks with no water and warped the head. Please don't go writing notes on the folly of driving with a hole in the radiator and no water. It was around midnight and absolutely freezing, plus way out in the country with no phone reception so I had to find a pay phone and ring for help.

Whilst I was waiting for parts I borrowed mum's old Volvo to get back and forth to work (180ks each day in a car with over 430,000 on the clock). After three days it just stopped outside Bungendore and took me half a day to get it towed back to Tarago. It's still with the mechanic. That's two cars down now.

Time now to borrow the Pajero (great living on a farm) and I managed to get a parking ticket the next day.

    Not having a good week.

i drive on country roads a fair bit in the dark (melb-buller), and i too am fearful of hitting a wombat- last year i nearly hit one, it was a big f**ker, just sitting on the median line. scary stuff.

dont get down. we all have those sort of weeks.

life can sometimes be a total b!tch, but it'll sort itself out soon.

yeah my grandma lives there and i used to go there alot when i lived in sydney- it must have been a domesticated one that escaped, because ive never seen wombats there.

you'd think it WOULD cover hitting a wombat- i mean, i crashed my car last year, it was my own fault, but seeing as no one else was involved and i wasnt speeding/ drink driving, insurance paid up.

i can envision everyone on this board going back over the fine print in their insurance contract right about now....

He has to ride around in his mum's fanny pack until he repairs.
