Even in the manual MKV Polo GTI has the brake and accelerator pedal quite a distance apart (in height, rather than width). I find it a little bit of a stretch to heel-toe in the Polo compared to all my previous cars.

Yep, it's more a safety design. Because the peddle are so close together they've put the brake peddles a bit forward as not to mistakenly press the accelerator.

That was in my post from this morning (on the previous page). Unfortunately WCF f'd up the aspect ratio of their video, hence why I linked to another groups upload which has the Polo GTI in its 'non-squished up form' so it actually looks natural!

Ref to my previous post or this excerp:

No, for me the GTI is a 3 door car ... same as the Golf, would never think of buying a 5 door. It just blurs into the category of other 5 door hatch/sedans ... 3 door or nothing !

I've only ever owned 3 door cars - that won't change - I even have the Mrs converted to a 3 door (though it's a Pug 207 GTi)

A dealer accidently showed me the model list that VW Australia are planning to bring. The only 3 door in the new Polo will be the base model Trendline. Everything above that, including the GTI, is 5 door only.

Some good news is that the 1.2TSI (3 cylinder turbo charged) motor will be coming. That will be in the comfort line models, and I can see that being very popular!
I'm just bummed about the lack of 3 door Polo GTI and Golf R

It's a shame there isn't an option of 3 or 5 door I would ideally like both as options.
