New polo gti owner, saying hi.

Hi there, been lurking on here for a couple of weeks, but since we ended up buying one yesterday, I thought I'd better join up and say hi.

It's an 07 model with just under 80k on the clock. Picking it up tonight, so pretty excited even though it's technically the girlfriend's car... Technically New polo gti owner, saying hi..

Although I've only joined today, the forum has been super helpful during the buying process, and I'm sure will be even more once the mods begin.

Will post some pics of the car tomorrow hopefully.

    Arno

Congratulations, pictures when you get it.

Plans to modify it down the track?

Just got the car. Will get some pictures in the sunlight tomorrow.

It drives so nice, it probably doesn't need any mods. But I can never leave a car alone. Haha. So there will probably be some.

    So far I was thinking:
    - chip
    - downpipe (possibly)
    - rear swaybar
    - porsche boxter wheels
    - maybe lower it a bit (but in two minds about that at the moment)

    Will see how things go.

    You're in QLD too.

If you want to try a couple of quick Polos, we have a few around. Can easily arrange some demo's of Stage 1 2 and 3.

    Thanks mate. I sure am.

Would really appreciate that when the time comes, should give me, ahem, I mean the missus. A better idea of what we want.

My other cars is a landcruiser and a 80kw work Ute, so at the moment this thing feels super fast. But I know I'll get used to it quickly.

I strongly recommend you don't try stages 2 and upward... You won't want to go back

Woohoo another silver polo. Welcome mate.

As everyone has suggested, the polos are nice standard but makes standard seem very boring once you've had it tuned. Save your pennies and get a downpipe made then go phase 2 if your plan of tuning. As mentioned above will save $ and the effort of doing things twice.

    Until then, enjoy

    Thanks all.

Yeah, we test drove one with an Apr tune and exhaust (unsure of what stage). But it was unreal!

Will make a post once we are ready to do it, for some opinions on where to go, what to get etc. But we need to sell the old car first haha
