Looks similar to the new Golf rendering. I like my GTI more though
"hot hatch fans will be excited by a new flagship GTI powered by a 170bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged TSI motor." ..let's see what eventuates hey. extra size may mean more weight/less performance.

I was hoping the new GTi would get the new 1.8 TSI. If it is to be the 1.4 this would be my last Pogo.....
I don't think the 1.4 has the same potential for extra power......

Looks like a Nissan Tida or what ever they are called nasty if u ask me.
The 1.4 TFSI would be a strung out little beast think i will stick to the 9N3 GTI.
It seems VW's preference so far is to give the Golf GTI leading-edge technology (2.0 FSI) whereas the Polo GTI ends up with the outgoing stuff (1.8T 20V). If history repeats itself, then there's a strong likelihood the new Polo GTI will get the current Golf GT's engine (1.4 TSI). That's a 1.4-litre direct-injection supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 127 kw. If the new Polo is bigger (and heavier) VW may leave the power output at 127 kw to even it all up. This is why I don't think they'd opt for the 1.8 TSI or 2.0 FSI - the 1.4 TSI is consistent with the direction VW is heading in.
If that's the case, then we need a pre-emptive strike, ...Guy, can you get on the blower to the boys in Alabama and get em to start extracting serious power out of the 1.4 TSI??
The 1.8T will be the pick if you want to tune a little though. I mean supercharger and a turbo is rather complex to fiddle with.
blame it on the rising fuel price.
stock to stock, new pog might be a better car though.
lets wait and see~
yes very true, i dont like it. it would be very hard to make a cool and different looking GTI out of that shape, looks too cheap and plastic. much prefer the current shape, has a lot more class and style.
And spirited driving in a 1.4TSI would probably end up being costly in the VW garage, due to engine strain.....i don't think i could handle the sound of a straining engine.

Hmm, the 1.4TFSI may not be bad news at all
And I'm sure APR and all the other tuners will be onto this one, too
