For our market, I'd almost be certain that they will arrive from South Africa.
Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3

In your opinion will this include the Polo GTI Break?
Has anyone heard any more about the building of the Polo R? I have read a few 'gossips' that VW will expand the R range to include the Polo and this model will be hand built in Germany...

I just ordered a New Polo today and on the documents the dealer gave me it says Uitenhage, South Africa. It is built week 16 which is this coming week and will arrive in Sydney the first week of June

I hate compact spare tyres so much

Having been "caught" in the middle of nowhere with one of those and being forced to drive for a lot further then you are meant to in order to reach a decent size town were I could get a puncture repair they are just not a viable option if you travel outside of the city in my opinion.

From what I've heard from an insider at VW's SA plant .... all RHD Polos, including GTIs (3dr and 5dr) will be built in South Africa. It is the only VW plant in the world doing RHD Polos ....

The "possible" R Polo will be built there almost to completion and then shipped to the R assembly plant to finish off .... similar to what HSV is doing for Holden.

    Thanks for that Sharkie,

What are peoples opinions of build quality differences between Spain and SA with regards to the new Polo GTI? I seem to remember hearing that some people were unhappy about the build quality of some of the SA Mk5 Golfs..?

    Cheers DCN
