I'd go for something not too far out...I looked at getting them here in QLD, but I cant justify $2300 for 2 pieces of tin...Its a disgrace that they charge that.

I have personal plates on my car.
Dont really suit my car though as they were made up for my previous car and I just kept them..
Ever since people started posting quotes, I couldn't help thinking what a rort. For me, i'd put plenty of other mods way above altering the number plate. It's never really appealed to me anyway, but finding out what it'll cost just confirms it's something i'll never think of doing in future.
The benefit of buying plates that other people would want is that you can sell them for a good price - either equal or as close to original cost as possible.
I sold my first set for $5 less than I paid for them - they were 16GSR off a 1.6L Lancer GSR.
I imagine the current plates I have would be popular enough to at least re-coup what I paid, if not make money.

Oops, just realised that the only problem with that idea was, you can only use such combinations once. Cause once its taken its gone.
here in the uk we can only choose what available for sale from the dvla in either AB12 ABC or A12 ABC as an example
