new gti owner looking for new shop chips etc
hey friends,
first time vw owner and so far (this weekend) loving it!
first off i have searched a bunch and have a lot of questions answered however, i thought i might ask to be more specific to my needs.
I have bought a silver sun roofed, leather 07 polo with 85000kms on the clock in sydney. Needs a service asap as its due. I have noticed the previous owner has been jumping around with servicing without having a dedicated workshop. Im looking for a place close to sydney city as i live in the inner city.
heres the thing, id love to put it in for the service and get a flash tune straight away. Ive researched places that might do this like european autech, bwa in seven hills and some others listed on the apr website.
Does anyone have a place close to the city that can fulfil my needs, i can start up a beautiful relationship with, and even perhaps do other mods down the track while being not to hefty on price? (haha lot to ask i know)
I have also been reading conflicting stories of the cam belt having to be changed at 90000 right through to 105000. I have no idea if this has been done on my gti - no receipt or notation in the books - so assuming not. should i be nervous at 85kms or am i ok for the next 20000kms? am i correct in assuming this is going to be around the 1k mark??
Thanks for reading and i look forward to your replies!!

Mate, heaps of places to go. I have dealt with Euro Autotech, and have no problems with them... Depends on what you want done...
Got my timing belt done at the 105k km mark... No dramas, as this is what it says in the service manual... The next service interval for your car is 90k km, so it's not due at this stage unless it waning done at the 75k km service (the service interval is 15k km's).
The best thing you can do is use the search function at the top right of the screen. All of your questions have been answered a number of times here on this forum, and there is plenty of info out there for you to look at.

thanks for the reply.. to be more specific was after someone close to the city, that could also tune - after extensive searching and googling, going to give vw village in kensington a look..

Think they do Giac, you could do worse...
Best basic mods to accompany a tune is the PD160 intake and a Forge 008 diverter. You do not need either, but both very worth while IMO.
If you want to talk shop and see a Polo that's been tinkered with, feel free to hit me up.
