    Nails & Screws

Last week I had a huge screw pulled out of a tyre and today I noticed I have two other tyres with a nail/screw in the tread, luckily not causing a puncture.

I've always puzzled over where the hell these come from.

Is there a secret organisation out there where members cruise Australia's roads scattering nails & screws at random?

    Maybe Bob Jane employees?

aha stop taking corners too quickly - A 'racing line' through a corner on the street usually means you go near the gutter / median strip and pick up all the crap.

When I got my first car and had a few nails/screws/punctures a little too often my old man told me it was obvious what was happening and I should slow down.

    Well you got me picked!

I always pick racing lines - even when driving slow - they are just so.........efficient.

But where have the damn things come from in the first place?

Carpenter type tradies don't seem to drive around with open boxes of nails n screws jumping around in the back tray spilling their contents onto the highways of this wide brown land.

So why are they so common?

Just a little something to add have you noticed that most people you drive passed with a puncture has the rear jacked up. Have a look next time. Front tyre picks up the offender and throws it to the rear which cops it at speed. 90% rears, funny hey!

Touch wood I don't get one. I lent my spare to a mate who came undone in a similar fashion.

....I bet he's doing burnouts on it as we speak! lol

    Whacko.

ANOTHER huge screw in my passenger rear tyre for a nice slow deflate.

Don't doubt your tyre low pressure warning system - it works!

you must be driving through a area that is frequented by construction trucks.I used to go down a major truck route and I copped alot of stone chips and nails in my tyres.since I stopped going that way,I stopped getting that type of damage!!!
