My poor Polo GTI is in hospital .... again

My 07 Polo GTI is in hospital having her gearbox rebuilt (yes she was one of the ones that was "fixed" several months ago under the recall notice) and having a new power steering box fitted ..... She has been gone a week and I miss her, hopefully she should be home later this week .....

Coincidently, my friends new beetle stalled and failed to start again and was towed to the same dealer for repair of a mystery cause that the mechanics cant yet find .....

Those dubs must be playing games I say !

"Recall notice"? Is this notice on the web somewhere, and what happened with the gearbox?
    Cheers

gearbox has been crunching from first to second gear.
the recall is afaik not a recall that you get a letter for... if you front the dealer with the known problem then they have a suggested fix... first time it was to replace the gearbox oil, this helped for a few months as the crunching stopped... now it has started again so the gearbox is to be rebuilt to replace the second gear synchros.

    time to upgrade!!
baby #2 on the way and we have put up with the 2 doors in the polo long enough... 2 bubs in it will be just way too painful.

so looking at either a golf or tiguan.

If you only have little kids you can slide them through the boot area Makes better use of that 3rd door
