I just did a straight swap with my pd160, I never read anyone's tutorial so didn't bother cutting the rock deflector thing out. I can't see it making any difference whatsoever. Apparently the pd160 is meant to be a bit of a placebo anyway haha!

I didn't bother cutting that piece out either, but am confident of the improvement over standard on a tuned car. The transition coming on to boost is smoother and pickup is smoother/marginally more responsive too (on my set up anyway). On factory tune, I'd likely agree with you.
As for improvement by cutting that flap out, I'd say F'all would be noticed, but will maintain my ignorance until proven wrong![]()
