Figured I'd contribute, this is every car I've owned in order (First car bought at 16yo, latest car bought this year at 25yo).

I still *really* miss the WRX, but I don't regret selling it because it got me into the property market. Actually, the thing I miss most about the WRX was the noise, as it was running a full 3" turbo back with no cat, no resonators, nothing. Got a vid of it here but even with great speakers it still doesn't do it justice.

I also miss the Mx5, but being a track car it just didn't have the reliability or practicality I needed so I decided to sell it and grab the dub.

    My list is:
Land Rover Series 2 LWB - Good fun but no power steering and terrible turning circle meant impossible to park.

Range Rover 1982 - Loved this car and went everywhere in it including desert trips and lots of serious 4wdriving. Developed a chronic shake at 80km/h, spent a fortune trying to correct it but nothing worked.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8 1983 - Sounded awesome, great handling, surprisingly reliable. Bought at auction for $2000, lasted 5 years without spending a cent on it. Died of rust haha. It served it's purpose. I still really like the look of these cars.

Holden Calais VL - Bought it off the family, piece of sh**, traded in on

Holden Barina SRi - Was ok but handling could have been a lot better. Quality was a joke.

    Peugeot 206 GTi180 - Loved this car

    VW Polo GTI

Man, my list is filled at two!

My first was a Proton Satria GTI...I still miss it, even though the Polo GTI has much more balls. The handling on the Satria GTI is amazing, like driving on train tracks. Not the best build quality (interior is poor quality) but for the money you pay, its alot of fun.

1959 Holden FC Special – always love your first car – back seat was amazing especially at the drive-in
1971 Datsun 1600 – awesome car, great gear box & quick
    1965 Holden HD – got from A - B
1978 Toyota Corona Stationwagon – horror drive for 8 years -that's what you get for having kids.
1972 Hillman Hunter – fun drive
1974 Ford TD Cortina XLS 4.1 – quite a good ride
    1982 Ford Centura - crap
    1992 Ford Laser - ordinary
    1991 FordTelstar TX5 - enjoyed
    1995 VR Berlina - reasonable
1989 Mitsubishi Scorpion – good for the kids
1999 Subaru Impreza WRX – very impressive
2001 Subaru Liberty - wife liked it
2000 Toyota Corolla – wife also likes, but not as much
2005 VW Golf GTi Mk5 – best car ever
2010 VW Golf GTi Mk 6 – cannot wait, although I will have to

1998 Mitsubishi Mirage - weak and crap and modded ricey bits and pieces, best mod ever - Turned the distributor cap a degree for lame a$$ advanced timing. Has trouble climbing hills that car has

1999 Skyline R34 GTT - Spent too much on it, 280rwkw in the end - Anti-hoon laws enacted and the police were deciding to crack down on imports (even following me around on the way home at times on an almost daily basis), made me think to sell. When I heard along the lines P-platers were no longer able to drive turbo cars, thats it, gotta cut my losses short and sold. BUT the number of test pilots, tyrekickers i had to go through...

2008 BrandNew Toyota Aurion Zr6 - fully optioned minus the satnav - boring as hell whitegood but comfy and the fastest family-six out there out of the showroom - spent a bit on chrome rims, expensive and loud soundsystem, riding gangster.... and realised its not me.

2005 Polo GTi - pretty much decked out stage 2, only thing left is lightweight flywheel and clutch as well as suspension bits and pieces... Don't think this is a keeper, getting older and more responsible means i need a 4 door car. Possibly looking in the year ahead at a 8P S3, Evo IX or even try HSV R8 or FG XR6T

    1. 1973 MGB Mk 3 (rare Post-BL honeycomb grille) - with Laycock de Normanville overdrive and flo-thru ventilation (eg face level vents!) - loved the exhaust note and the slick gearchange, shame it leaked and nothing electrical worked when you wanted it to.

    2. 1999 MX-5 10AE - still miss it after nearly 2 years, handled like nothing else in the price range, fantastic gear change, could do with (lots) more power though. Shouldn't have sold it.

    1. 1982 Mk 1 Golf GTi - Awesome fun, never had aproblem. had an unfortunate run in with a cliff.

    2. 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi - One of the the best four cylinder motors ever made. Body made from recycled milo tins.

    3. 1992 Peugeot 205 GTi - Most fun you can have with your clothes on. A bit fragile and not much fun in traffic. Don't even think about lifting mid corner, it tried to kill me more than once.

    4. 1996 Holden Barina GSi - Steaming pile of s*^t. Everything broke, run a mile!

    5. 2006 Polo GTi - Awesome power with the APR chip. Handling is a little bit wooly, but the build quality is second to none.
