    My new Marangoni's

    hey people,
got my new tread put on the other day because my Toyo Proxes T1-R's had some nail issues...

They are the Marangoni Zeta Linea in 205/40 R17, which cost me $204/corner fitted and balanced.

very very happy with these...they stick to the road extremely well, my straight line traction issues are all but gone . launching is so clean and easy now (no tyre chip and wheel spin).

    highly recommended!

    They look great!

How do they compare to the Toyos you had as far as softness/quietness is concerned. Are the Marangoni's harder/noiser or softer/quieter than the Toyo?

Also, how do they both compare in softness and noise to the Conti CS2?

    Mmmm, looks nice .....

HOWEVER .... one of the things protecting your clutch is the bit of wheelspin you get. No more wheelspin = more punishment for the clutch.

And the are expensive to replace......

Nice one. I am looking at a set for my little blue wagon. A mate just put a set on his Alpina B11, and is loving them. Great traction and awesome price.

only a little bit harder than the Toyo's but i don't mind that at all. to someone who wasn't looking out for it, they probably wouldn't even notice. and if you have a bit of a look around the net at the Toyo's, they have a very good rating for low road noise (especially on the highway)....well.......these are much quieter!
so keeping that in mind, i'd say the Marangoni's do quite well.

As for the Conti's, i can't comment because i've never had/tried them. i bought this car 2nd hand with the Toyo's on it.

yeah i know, that is one of my concerns. i know Kai has also snapped several CV joints from running a high grip tyre so we'll see what happens.

with the toyo's i was getting a huge amount of wheel chip and spin which caused a really loud banging sound coming from the rear...it did not sound good at all and assumed it was doing some damage. seems i can't win either way.
