My GTi No longer a VIRGIN..It coped it both front & rear this morning.NOT HAPPY JAN!.

Well I was on my way to work as usual this morning.
I was approaching a round about and slowing down... next min ****ING BANG!!!

Smacked in the ASS and then pushed into the car in front...

What a ****ing Hit!!! , there was no skidding just 60ks right into me!!!

Apart from Whiplash and very sore Back and Arms, I'm ok; the car is a little worst off...

The Damage is much worst than what can be seen, the front Bar is Cracked and spilt in sections, both fog light grills came off. Bottom Grill smashed, Bonnet dinted, front side Mould came offNumber plate bent and plastic smashed....

Now the rear, I cannot open the boot,The bar has obviously sprung back,it has 2 massive holes in... but boot floor under the car/ behind the Bar , rear bar support, all stuffed + what you can see..

Also have not idea how the rear quarter got bucked??

I'm not a happy chappy, as the car is just over 1yr old...

Also something that surprised me was out if all the ****ing airbags these cars have ... NOT 1 went off.. And let me tell you I was hit ****ing hard and sandwiched into the car in front..

Whom can I abuse about this???

Anyway, claim has been made, car will be assessed next week, the hopefully off to the shop the week after...

Mate. I can totally understand how you fell right about now. I recently had my car written off because off a being sandwiched between two car's.

It's just about the worst thing that can happen & what's frustrate's you the most is that it wasn't your fault one bit.

Glad to hear your alright which is the most important thing. After all, it is just a car. It may take a couple of day's to get over the soreness though. Might be best to see a the doctor, physio/osteo.

The quarter panel would have been creased due to the large shunt in the back. It's the car's way of transferring the impact force's throughout the structure.
Look's like the car held up well to the impact's.

Chin up matey & you'll start to feel better about it in a few day's. I was gutted for nearly a week.

Looks like a potential write off to me, hope you pull up ok, that would have been a pretty hefty knock.

mate, get yourself checked out bc you still don't know the full extent of your injuries. we all hope you recovery quickly and you're ok.

on the flip side, you've managed to maintain a sense of humour and posted a funny thread title/analogy - top effort in the circumstances, at least it shows you're obsessed with all the right things

in terms of your car - no probs, when you get it repaired, get the bonnet and roof done in black, colour code all skirts and it'll put a smile on your face when you pick it up

Sorry to hear about this, and yes, get yourself checked out properly. That was quite a knock, based on the side panel buckle.

But (someone has to say it) I reckon it'll buff out

Sorry to hear of your accident, knowing how we all feel about our cars I'm sure it is most distressing to you, the most important thing though is your own safety and well being. Hope you get over the injuries quickly.

As far as airbags are concerned, it would be interesting to get an expert opinion on what should and should not have happened. Difficult to say from the pics but it appears the rear end impact was significantly greater than the front end impact. Perhaps the logic is that that deploying an airbag when hit from the rear would not make a great deal of sense, unless it was followed by a significant frontal impact. Perhaps if the frontal impact was greater the bags would have deployed.

Would be interesting if we have anybody on board that knows about these things that could enlighten us.

    Cheers

Shesh - sorry to hear about your bad luck. Wiplash is a bugger of a thing and can take a while to get sorted out. Get yourself along to the doc asap.

As for the car, I'm amazed to see the rear crumple done took so much of a blow. The rear windscreen didn't even smash. I'm guessing it's going to be a write off based on that. Good luck - I wish you a speedy recovery!
