Does anyone know if you can get guards for MY08 Polo TDI? If so where would be a good place to get them from?
Thanks in advance

the rear mud flaps do fit. front ones don't. i got mine (rear ones) through the dealer.

Rear and front mud flaps on a Polo GTI, the TDI you will have no problems fitting.
Original Polo ones from the dealer, the rear ones fit but the fronts you need to heat up first and fit them, they will mould into place.
Heating up is just a matter of leaving them sit in the sun for an hour or so in summer.

i didn't know about heating them up. flipper, when the front mud flaps cooled down did you have any issues with the mud flaps wanting to return back to their original form? it's hard to tell in the picture whether there is a gap between the mud flap and the car body. it looks like you've filled it with something.. or is that just my imagination?
chipped, my rear mud flaps look exactly the same as flipper's photo. they're actually quite small and subtle. i never notice them at all, so it doesn't distract from the look of the car.

Hello Bukefal,
the reason behind heating up the front plastics is to fit them around the mouldings. They will return to their normal shape but will hug the vehicle's body a little bit better than before. You could also file down the mud flaps to fit flush but what I have is okay for my needs.
Yes there is a gap and the photo does not show it but the gap is only very small. I will try and get another photo next week as I am away just now.
Agree with the size of them, they are quite small and don't get scraped over humps or the like. But they do work with protecting your side from driving in mud etc.

Genuine VW Polo mudflaps fit perfectly on Polo TDI. No heat required. And while you have the wheels off to fit them, get the corrosion off the hub. (I presume it is salt spray corrosion picked up on the boat over.) I think they were $65/pair.
(GTI Owners need to modify the flaps to fit around the side skirts.)
Alternatively, you could fit cheapy generic ones for about $5-10/pair from Supercheap. (I have those on another car because the genuine ones were apparently body coloured.)
