Thread: Mud Guard question

    Mud Guard question

    Hi mates, came across the forum and found the following pic
    what its actual function for this? is that a mud guard?
    where can i buy that? can it be possible get it from ebay? any parts number for it?
    is it just for rear? what about the front?

    Hmmm, that appears to be my car haha.

    Are you talking about the lower black plastic portion of the bumper? If so that's completely normal.

    The thin plastic strip in the wheel arch is some sort of splash guard I think. I've removed it since that photo was taken though.

    I've seen them on all sorts of VWs. Bought my GTI and it didnt have them though. I dont think it makes much difference and probably looks a little better with out them

    Wheel arch extension, so that it covers the wider wheels of the GTI. You see 'em on all sorts of 'up-spec' cars. Merc SLK350 has the most noticeable set.

    Hi Kelvniii,

    Part numbers as requested for the fins. 6Q0807838 & 6Q0807837
    The fins are both front and rear. I have them standard on my rear.

    These are the part numbers used in South Africa. I pretty sure you can ask your local VW dearler about these part numbers.
