  1. #21

If anyone has access to part numbers it would be immensely helpful to know the part number of the 9N3 Polo slipring.

There has been a few members on here who have fitted MK5 GTI wheels with no issues. Straight swap I believe.

What I want to know is if the MK5 GTI swheel has the same airbag as the Polo GTI?

Mk5 wheel is pretty easy and if my attempts fail I'll go with that.
You can use the Polo airbag with the Mk5 wheel. It's physically the same, apart from being a little shallower at the back. Apparently you can't notice it. Using the Polo airbag takes all the complicated parts away, no wiring.

I'm currently surfing ETKA to find the slip ring part number for the 9N3. From first glances it looks like it will physically transfer over, I'm just trying to collect all the modules that need to interact with each other. Still trying to find info on if I'll have any probs with the cruise control playing nicely.

Ok after looking around on ETKA and the interwebs, it looks like the Golf slip ring connector is a different orrientation to the Polo. Makes things hard...

I just found this guide to modify the looms, creating a hybrid between the two. Looks like a better solution --

I'm going to order the scirocco wheel and a Polo loom and see what happens..
