vwthunder, yeah, you want to be careful when using a rotary. I practised using my Makita 9227CB on a spare panel or too and then started off with really mild combo - I still err a little on the cautious side, but I'm happy with the correction I'm getting. You won't get swirls from rotary polishing, but from bad wash technique. What you can do though is cause holograms, buffer trails and worse, burn through the clear coat. You do need to be very careful, but it's not as scary as it's made out to be.

In DevilsOwn's case, Stage 1 is a purely spray on and off system - you set your desired initial spray point and when reached, the injection process takes place at full tilt.

Where as with the Stage 2, it's a fully progressive controller, where I've set an initial spray point and a full spray point - so for example at 1.4bar initialise spray and progressively ramp up the injection until I hit 1.8bar, where I want full spray, if that makes sense.

Thank you Jarred. I sometimes feel I could lower the front a little more, but it's already difficult at it's current height in daily use, with the belly pan being much lower on a TDI than a petrol version.

Thanks for the comments Gti Dave, I wanted to go for something different, something that would lend itself to Sooty's "racing heritage". The guy who does all of our teams carbon fibre work did it for me - floorboards, air boxes, door cards, other plates etc. He does all of VW Motorsports carbon fibre work, as well as work for Mercedes AMG etc.

Thank you Plautos - I've read your thread from start to finish - well done! Your work is incredible! I see you're looking for cage designs - I don't have any of normal street Polo's, but I can show you what we've done to our Tarmac Rally Polo - it's very similar to the S2000 specification.

Thanks Greg - yeah, it's been a long joy ride with Sooty - now 2.5yrs down the line. I unfortunately don't have the budget to keep up with a lot of guys and sometimes can't do something as quickly as I would like, but it all adds to the experience and I feel it makes me appreciate the little things even more.

I had finally saved up for a hard core 780nm clutch and was waiting for the supplier to come back to me so that I could place my order, but my team mate discovered something yesterday, and we're taking that opportunity together! Needless to say, my clutch & flywheel budget is now blown, as a good portion of it will go towards this item, but this is so worth the wait!!

Thanks Jasn78. It's one of the variations of the OZ Chrono Evolution's as far as I know.

A big thank you to *SamStaR* for the awesome Christmas present - another small OEM+ something.

Thanks to my good friend & team mate, for the spare set of tail lights to do a few experiments with.

I've got a package which I need to bring down from Durban, as well as a package from Germany. Once they have all arrived I'll have to look at getting the respective items & possibly more painted.
