    What’s up gang!

Well how everybody knows, the car is rolling again but with the stock gearbox... what I didn’t told is that I finally installed the new APR Stage3+ software.

I also installed new Bosch gen4 50lb/h injectors.

In a few words the car changed a lot…. Principally at the N/A fase and when it still cold. I felt the power much more balanced too.

Today I went to the dyno and tested 3 alternatives of camshaft timing.
Here are the results, all made in fourth gear.

    Retarded 4 degrees

    Stock

    Advanced 3 degrees

Well.. the dyno results show me that the stock timing was the best. There the engine delivers more power and torque. But everybody knows… no dyno replace a track!

I was specting better results with advanced timing, especially in torque.

In the STOCK graphics you can see 300whp and 35kgf.m of torque. It is around 340bhp.
The car is strong, today I broke something in the right axel.

    I'm BACK!

I was a little frustrated with the lack of track days, but there is a light in the end of the tunnel.

Here are some other upgrades I'm performing in the car.

How I told you before, I remove the SAI PUMP, N75, N112 and N149 and in their places I installed resistors.

I started an experience some weeks ago. I bought a pair of rear spindles and machine then removing 0,7mm diagonally.

The idea is remove convergence from the rear wheels to make the car corner better.

I installed the parts today, I didn’t pulled any g’s doing slaloms yet, but I notice in a few corners the ESP more active!

    Hi Plautos

I understand the logic of removing the N112 and N149, but I'm unclear how the wastegate works with the N75 removed. Can you post a picture showing the new layout of your vacuum lines?

    Thanks

Thanks for the pictures. Are you happy with the Festo valve controlling the wastegte by itself?

I’m very happy. The end result is impressive.

If you are one who takes care of your car, this is a simple mod very recommended.

    What´s up gang!

With the new rear spindles the car’s geometry changed, now the rear has a divergence of 1,35 for each side, instead the convergence of 1,5 given by the white line toe kit. In fewer words the rear wheels are open.

I weighted the car too. With the fuel tank half full, the car weighs 1246kg. LF386kg, RF400kg, RL241kg and RR218kg.
The weight distribution is very mixed but with me inside the things changed a little. 1338kg, LF414, RF410, RL263 and RR248. A little more balanced but the rear end still shows a small difference.

I went to the track this weekend using semi-slicks and I’m happy to say, I lowered my time in almost 5 seconds. I did 1:40.4. With the road tires do 1:45 was a fight.

I will post some pictures and videos later.

I had to weld a crack in the exhaust manifold last week, so I took the opportunity to upgrade the turbo. I did an Anti-surge on the compressor housing, hoping for more stable boost pressures. The results with the anti-surge were good. I had more turbo noise, the boost is more stable but I lost recovery. When I’m in the fifth gear at 2500rpm with full throttle, the engine takes too much time to build power.

I also did the shifter bushings, I did not believe, but it is a good upgrade. I think the plastic linkage will fail with the time… let’s see.

I tuned the gearbox strut (I don’t know how to call that part in English). I inserted a piece of aluminum to make it stiffer. It is not recommended… the sensation is to run the car without tires… with the wheels directly over the tarmac.

Man 5 seconds better on the track is a quality effort.
I love the level of detail you go into with your mods and how you manage to do them yourself.

Keep up the great work and hopefully you will never have to worry about the recovery and only enjoy the upside of the turbo update.

    Mmm, I want a Garrett... Is that a GT28?

Interesting about your spool issues, makes sense that the boost would have issues building in the system.

Nice work as per usual mate, maybe some of the boost is now restricted elsewhere? Are you still running the stock intake manifold?

Is the car smooth for street driving with the Flow controller and BOV in that config? I'm looking to remove the SAI system and keep thinking that the N75 needs to go, but I want to retain some comfort when backing off the throttle...
