Let the intercooler do his job!

I remove all the sealing rubber from the engine compartment, the air is flowing much more freely now.

I remember reading that boost controllers do not work on the Polo's. How does this air flow controller work as from what I understand it restricts air to the Actuator. This is what boost controllers also do so how does one thing work and not the other??? (sorry if this seems a little off topic but I'm interested in the answer).
    Cheers,

    John

Correct me if im wrong, but if you control the air to N75 which is the boost controller, then you really are still doing the same job as a manual boost controller, but only it will be smoother correct?????? Looks like you are restricting the input to N75 and then of course this will alter the output from N75 so i can see how it could be smoother as the ecu still drives N75.

Funnily enough i have been talking to a mate about this exact same thing as well. He said if you put one of these valves in it restricts the boost from getting to the wastegate until a set limit. So if the wastegate is bleeding off early, the valve wont let the air get to the wastegate. which means more boost longer. but does this have an effect on AFR, and the boost requested and actual boost??

Please correct me if im wrong....

Although I reckon that unprotected pod filter will be hurting your performance quite a bit. Possibly more than the stock air intake. Those things really suffer from heatsoak when they are just sitting open in the engine bay.
Not to mention eliminating the ram-air effect of the stock intake mouth and air box......
