Mazda 3 MPS vs Polo

Those figures stated earlier by wheels i believe also include a passenger in the car (i.e. two people).

With my MPS 3 i have recorded 80-120km times between 2.89sec to 3.15s in third gear (without a passenger). This car also cleanly beat XR6T in rolling acceleration.

PS: I like the golf GTI, was a close decision between the two when i purchased the MPS. Also, drove the XR5 turbo, the MPS and GTI were much better drive IMHO

Have to see what the MKVI GTI will bring out, heard of 184KW engine.

I've done a few runs too, with a passenger, 3/4 tank fuel, and unchippped, I got:5.08, 5.00 and 5.42. Time was measured via 1Hz GPS speed on Nokai N95 using RaceChrono. I think that's not bad for stock Polo, only 0.6sec slower than stock Golf.

I was really interested in compareing my Polo's 80-120kmph time, as i think thats the cars strength, roll on acceleration.

I found this from a WHEELS magazine review of cars..

Ive done a few hand timed 80-120kmph roll on runs in 3rd gear.

3 runs ended up being (3.47) (3.55) (3.61) secs in 3rd gear.

Sorry for bring up this old thread, just got my polo chipped and i also test drive the 3MPS, d polo doesnt feel as fast as the MPS, i will say the polo is 80% as fast as the MPS by feeling...
