Maybe buying this... Is it anyones of here old car??..

Decided today that rather than get an old golf/polo and keep my skyline i think i will trade it in and have just one car...

Anyway said car is an 08 polo gti in silver with 25k on clocks and fsh totally std..

They want $19990 for it and have offered me $17k for my skyline (r33 gtr v spec 1995) and then put $3k cash too what do you guys reckon??

Ask the owners about it being chipped ... if it is they shouldn't have an issue telling you, after all it is worth $ to do in the first place. Although "lighting it up in 1st" isn't unusual when standard, it's 2nd and 3rd when it's chipped Doesn't seem to have a lot of kms on it which is good. One of the WA boys might recognise it.

Follow the APR instructions (if it's APR tuned) on how to activate / deactivate chip mode. Then casually try (ha!) whilst getting in the car. If they get worried, tell them not to worry and that you'd prefer it be chipped, lol.

If the cars chipped there's a lot less waste gate noise, and it feels less laggy at low revs.. but if you have never driven one of these before, best way to find out if its apr'd is

Turn ignition off, switch cruise control off
Turn ignition to aux, switch cruise control on
    Hold down the Set button
If the engine light starts flashing, bluff the dealer

Good luck figuring which profile you changed to lol, if it goes into vallet mode the cars prob got 80hp lol

If not then your more than likely stock or have some other sort of tune "if tuned"
