    Matty's polo adventure

Before jumping into the Volkswagen scene I used to own a commodore wagon as my daily, this was the first time I modified a car and as it not being the type of car the VAG boys like I came in with the wrong idea of modifying,

I went from wanting a fast and the furious polo slammed on big wheels, loud and in your face paint work

Then I met the stance works guys which turned me into the right direction and gave me the interest I'm into now and hopefully will always love, this love got me my first set of coilovers, I loved my new lows and to set it off, ran a set of Porsche twists reps, since running this set up my coilovers have had a turn for the worst and have become horrible to drive with, really rough and a massive performance loss.

I'm now looking Change the polo up again and make it a clean looking street car with performance and handling priority. New coilovers and a few more mods to go on the 1.8,
I think the polo will really make a nice comeback and I think this thread will be worth following over time.
Parts I'm looking for now are some denvers, so if anyone can help with that would be awesome,
Twists will now be on sale depending I can get the 16s

I'm guessing that the Twists are really heavy (and maybe not enough offset). The Denvers are really quite heavy too so I'd try to find some different 16" 5x100 rims on Ebay.

With this, you may not need new coilovers (unless the damper units have died as part of the process)

Yeah dude, im pretty sure the damper Units are stuffed, i can put it on hard and soft and it doesnt feel a tad different, spring rate also seems wrong.

Denvers arnt for weight purposes more for a oem/standard/ clean look. i want the polo to be an unexpected rocket.
to be truthfully honest, i miss the feeling of buying the car and it being a clean new feeling car, lots of aesthetics mods take that away from me. =)

When you say the weight of the rims may not make me need new coil overs? meaning?

    Cheers for the comments =)

Sorry for being unclear - I was trying to say that your current coilovers may work much better with lighter wheels as the dampers wouldn't be worked so hard but if they're already stuffed....

Q/Stealth cars are cool IMO (that's my excuse for driving a diesel, covered in road grime with skinny tyres on 14" rims)

yeah i love the stealth cars. so much fun seeing people faces after blowing them away.

we will see what the other wheels are like, one can only try this out.

Keen on building a cleaner polo and sticking to an idea

Sad news to say, as i have really enjoyed my car, and been brought into a new Scene of modifying.
My Polo Adventure will be Coming to an End. Many times i Been talked into not selling up (Bflat) , But as Finances are getting harder with things being built up the little polo isnt gaining any value.
i Will have it for the next couple months as i prepare it for sale.
Most parts will be sold separate. if any interest.

    Matty.

Oh no really sad to hear, you are one of the true polo enthusiests on here

Its great to see people doing mods apart from a flash and lowering. Hopefully some new polo lovers will take over from you

What car would you be looking at if you sold the Polo
