I'll have a look see, choice mods was what I was planning. Thanks bro.
And bullseye, thats what I had in mind, getting some decent slotted rotors for the standard calipers and good street pads and SS braided lines. Bang ill be happy, ofcourse i'd be happy with more too but this is all I need for the type of driving I do ...
I'm trying to keep this car budget build aswell, so not looking at getting everything brand new, i will probably get choice parts from this forum and from a few sites. And then upgrade to the new Polo GTI later this year/early next. depending on situation but thats looking to far in the future... for now, build continues hehe i got some surprizes comming

dude, that deepanal sticker..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... .....
you probably dont need a "big brake kit" / larger rotors etc on the stock tune, let alone chipped tune - no need to add unnecessary unsprung weight when a simple slotted rotor / good pads / good fluid upgrade (probably less than $600 from gsl rallysport) will be more than enough to transform the car's braking ability.
everyone in vic with a polo has had plenty of runs over reefton spur both together and by ourselves, and this brake upgrade is more than enough to be able to punish them over the 40kms down into marysville, and still not lose confidence or braking ability.
i've been out of it for a while - a wheel alignment is needed before i go on another heavy run, but as of wednesday my clutch is forked so i need to get a new one, probably from overseas. so no brap braps for me too soon, but when it's done it'd be good to organise a polo cruise - daytime, early early morning, perhaps via lilydale, healesville, black spur into marysville at least.
enjoi!
Its a euro one, they are smoothed from factory

MODS- TOO MANY
Ouch! that sounds nasty! though i am of the family of people that agree with the "raced" run-in procedure is the best way to alleviate those issues... if there isnt something larger at hand playing the field of "this car is a lemon!" .. but i have heard of people having DSG issues and broken bits and pieces before any wear comes into play, which is concerning and steering me away... maybe wait for a few years then get a later one.
Haha, yes that sticker... its a questionable thing right? ... its a becon for sure... cops have had a look afew times...
And agreed, i dont feel i need a bigger brake setup, just a rotor upgrade and pads would be enough... i have green stuff atm, but my rotors are eaten down pretty good... so its spongey and fading quick. But yeh i'd only get a bigger brake setup if one came up cheap for the lols.
OW BTW, a guy showed me a decent clutch and lightened flywheel setup for under 500 landed. I'll get the url for you.

hey dude,
I don't frequent here as much as i used to, but would like to offer my 2c...
Chip it. Don't ask questions, don't delay. It is NOT the same car afterwards and IMO is a wasted car without it.
Uprated DV - you don't have to worry about this on day 1, but i'd keep it in mind to do within 10,000k's of chipping as the stock one will slowly fail, stealing your boost.
Coilies, see the other threads going on, but the used KW V1's on offer are a great set.
Wheels: Those wheels would fit, but by the time you add on adapters, would Poke a fair amount. Get something that fits, if you have cops looking at your car, you want it legal.
Get your rear control arm bushes done at the same time you get your new suspension done.
The short-shifter mod for the gearbox was a winner. didn't cost much and makes the car more fun to drive.
I'd do the rear sway bar.
Then what? Well, get it looking nice. I like the eyelids, I like the Polo's with some extra colour coding. The exhaust is fine, but if its noise you want, see how the chip goes maybe? If you can get a good rear muffler / tips cheap, could be a good sound, hit and miss IMO.
Enjoy mate, if you want to know anything specific about my toy, I've a thread someplace, used to spend 1/2 my life on here and know the Polo pretty well. Feel free to PM me. I've got a bunch of junk on sale in some thread I'm about to find and bump.
You have some great Polo enthusiasts down there, get to know them.
Hey all,
Hehe maybe I will have to bump the chipping up the priority list... though, it will definitely happen after I get a bit of engine bling, considering my friend can customize the tune, rather get him todo it with the bits in and then and there with minimal playing around afterwards)
Good advice on the wheels and on that note i'll sit on the fence and see what i can get out from this forum, buy a set down the track when someone is selling
The RCA bush, the SEAT ones, i've read jmac sources? i'll pm him and get them .
Havn't seen a short shifter mod about? but I saw the shift link / bush mods in on of your (noone) threads... I dont mind the feel of my shift, so no reason to change... and if i made it harder/shorter... I fear that might put too much pressure on the syncros, which havnt crunched since I had the MTL put in, but rather not test lol.
RSB is a HUGE definite! anyone recommend somewhere to get one? or anyone offloading one, pm me and consider it sold.
@noone - Thanks for your post, and I did indeed check out your thread, its a pretty awesome build. If i have any questions ill PM you

The forge short shift is a win in my book and well worth it. There was a group buy that had them landed and delivered for around $100, do I reckon you could get it for not much more
Got my coilies ( FK AK Streetlines) for $430 landed from the UK. Good budget coil overs and I've never had issues, must have over 15000kms on them now.
I don't want to start a chip war, but get your car chipped. Personally I'm running APR which is an awesome tune but a lot of people your way are running GIAC. Might be worth talking to some one and seeing what they think.
PD 160 SEAT intake, RSB and dump pipe are all worthy mods.
As for wheels, 17" seems to be the perfect choice but larger can be done.
Just my 2c worth
