From my experience, when my coil pack died it was as Sean mentioned above, was like a wrx and sputtered badly under load. It was a very evident issue, and turned to crap overnight, not over a period of time.

Yeah from what I know, failing coil packs won't show up as a fault/raise a code. So it could still be the coil pack. Usually once they die, the car sounds more like a wrx and stumbles and stutters.
At least no codes, so that's one box you can tick off.

Well my car isn't causing problems like just really slow in the revs under 4K but just got my new plugs so I'll see what happens when I put them in tonight
plugs changed and feels a little nicer but still no real power down low like it use to be on stage 1 i really dont get it its not a vacuum leak or i wouldn't hit full boost so it has to be the fuel reg and just running too rich cos this has no chance in frying 2nd like it use to im about to give up on this car i think its just slow
i put the 4 bar reg in the day before the stage 2 tune and the car hasn't felt the same since
I know its probably not the comment you want to hear - and you'd know your car better than me obviously.. but I wonder if there's just a bit of psychological effect going on here? You were expecting a big jump in power - didn't really get it - and now your questioning what's broken.
I know when I went the downpipe and got the 'testpipe' file uploaded on my APR tune, the jump in power was pretty minimal. If going from stock to stage 1 was like going from a 1 to a 7 in terms of power/feel, then the revised tune was only like going from a 7 to an 8 (arbitrary imaginary units for example). I got a bit more power higher up, but minimal change down low - possibly even a smidge more lag
But hopefully there's something a bit amiss, you can fix it and get the results you want. Its fricking annoying when there's some mysterious issue with your car and you just can't figure it.
As for being slow - I don't think a stage 2 polo is going to be smoking evo's and GT-Rs left and right, but they're pretty fun none the less
I did oringally think that was the problem thinking that I was expecting more off a bigger kick but stage 1 would fry the tyres in first over 3k and second would spin easy and now since stage two I've been reving it to 4K and struggles to spin first today giving it some good hits to work and home till 6500rpm in 2nd gear and can't get it to fry the tyres like it would on stage 1 tune hence why I think there is something wrong
If I want a lot of power I have my 500hp rx7 in the garage haha
You're going to drive yourself nuts unless you get it logged. You may not even get as far as a logging, the fault code for an easy to fix will probably be staring straight at you once you plug in. It could be MAF, MAP, coil harness, o2 sensor, rich condition, cam not phasing etc etc- a million things that you can go around in circles with unless you log it.
Getting it logged? I had it scanned today and not showing any faults other than the cruise control that I know it doesn't work or are you taking about something different? I plan to just take it back to the shop that gave me the revo tune hopefully next Friday and they can tell me what's going on
Just in case you're not familiar with the whole VAG logging thing, logging usually with vcds software means taking real time read only data logs of things like fuel trims at idle and then o2 sensor lambda/AFR's, MAF, MAP sensed versus required boost, inlet temps, injector duty cycles and timing pull during 3rd gear runs. All the data gets saved into files that you can analyse or email to someone who can. Its just plugged into the comms port of the ECU next to your right knee while you do it out on the road.
Its good that you got it scanned and there were no major errors. Reading fault codes in a scan may show up if you have a glaring problem eg a sensor that is turd, but if you have a fueling, boost or timing issue that's related to the tune, it'll show up in the logs.
But if you were familiar with all that but were just waiting till friday then I'm sure your guy will have that and more and will get you sorted.
Hi bud! Congratz on the car.
My name is Dhiren and I actually have a 9n3 polo gti. It is a really fun and awesome car to own. Modding it will definitely unleash it's true power.
I currently have:
Unitronic stage 2 software,
76mm downpipe,
63mm exh,
A front mount intercooler with upgraded piping,
Forge splitter recirculating diverter valve,
A forge turbo-inlet pipe,
A 4 bar fuel pressure regulator and
A cai.
My car is a really beaut to drive, raced a few bigger cars and surprisingly I was in font of them.
I guestimate that power is around the 165-170wkw mark.
