Funny you should mention that, I've just received a set from eddy this week, yet to put them in. They are yet another arrow in my quiver.

    I don't think it is.
When I had the superpro bushes fitted the shop mentioned they removed the subframe to do it. Not sure why though I did get both the front and rear LCA bushes done at the same time.
The knock was there before this work and continued after, unchanged. If it was moving I would have thought the R + R would have sorted that out at least for a short period.

Recently I've had a series of knocks appear, different to the morning knock, I believe I've got a couple of series of issues going on.

I've lubed the drop links, sway bar chassis mounts etc and the knocks are still there.
Since I posted this more knocks have appeared, mainly while braking particularly over bumps.

I have much suspicions but that is all they are at the moment.

I'm still looking into it. I haven't ruled out replacing the lot (suspension, sway bar, strut tops, drop links, rotors, pads), they are on my mods to do list anyway. I don't think it's one single cause now, I think at nearly 100k a few stock parts are getting a bit on.
I isolated the knock on the drivers side in my car by removing that drop link. A few metres down the road and it was obvious that was the cause, even though I couldn't really discern any play in it.

Its not the ABS carrying out its self test procedure? I believe it does a test when you near 15 to 20kph

Never heard that one before. The ABS in my G60 Golf would trip off at the end of the street most days because I had a bad wheels sensors. The ABS looks for inputs from all 4 wheels.

It doesn't actually apply the brakes or anything.

I don't think so? This is a knock that started a few thou km after picking up the car.
