2006 GTI Polo - Big Turbo Build - Louis19's Build Thread
Here’s a vid my partner Emm put together a couple nights ago. Touches on some of the main points of the build as well as some vids from the rolling racing event last weekend. I might hear back out to QR this Sunday to get some more footage and test out a couple things. Enjoy

that's cool the turbo is HUGE compared with the standard!
after seeing the video and you basically drag racing without a helmet I had to go and find out what 'roll racing' is about... this is on their website! Rules – Roll Racing Australia
huh?!Entrants are required to wear helmets, enclosed footwear and non-flammable clothing with full coverage from ankle to wrist to neck. All Entrants/drivers need to follow all Roll Racing Australia Staff and/or Official’s directions promptly and to full compliance.
yeah I could never get the no helmet bit either. Australia being Australia with its nanny state rules I was surprised you could go on a track anywhere without safety gear.
Hows the link going? Like its not even there , or a few quirks?
don't get me started... it's not Australia's nanny state rules that is the problem, it's the insurance company backing the event permit and licensing making the decisions on what they're willing to cover - but actually, it's our judicial system that allows people to be able to sue for their own stupidity... it should be "don't want to wear a helmet, fine, don't wear one, but if you don't wear one, your family doesn't get to sue when you're dead"
And thats not even a stock turbo, thats a TTE280. The stock turbo has an even smaller inlet than that so it looks like a monster next to one of those haha.
As for the roll racing. The actual roll racing events are in the evenings at QR. The events I attend are organized by groups such as downshift, Hi octane, torque time etc. Its not technically called a roll racing event, they just call it "happy laps" or "coffee and circuit" so they dont fall under the rules of the link you attached above. The mornings I attend MUST be street legal cars, nothing with roll cages or anything that rocks up on a trailer (even if registered and legal) will not be allowed on track. I believe that is purely based on the insurance those groups would have for the mornings.
