I cut the fuel filter open and check what's inside, when I see no gunk I then revert to normal service intervals.

Thanks for the heads up Garry that’s a great tip. I’ll buy a few fuel filters to have handy for the change over.

I’m running a Walbro 460 in tank pump now so I can replace or clean the fuel pump “sock” easily if and when need be.

After what’s been a long 9-10 months, yesterday my polo went on the rollers for its tune. We ended up with 273fwkw (366whp) - so well north of 300kw/400bhp at the crank for those who work on those figures.

At this power level the limiting factor was the 1000cc injectors on a 3Bar FPR. Originally when starting this project I hadn’t planned on running a full e85 so one day if this power level ever gets boring I can always swap out a couple bits for another big increase.

Big thanks to John for a cracking tune and turning it around so quickly. Hitting the track this weekend for some rolling racing action to give it a shakedown. I’ll be sure to take some footage as well.

Absolutely stoked to see all the hours that have gone into it pay off and have something to show for it.

Awesome result man. jeez you're going to have to nurse the throttle to get any traction. Really interested to hear how the around town driveability/idle/progression/off boost etc with the LINK.

Louis how did you strap it down on the dyno. Did you go around the subframes and then diagonally backwards from there?

jeez that's a lot of grunt - it must be very entertaining to drive

do you mind telling tell me your wheel size/offset and tyre size? I've hunted through your thread but can't find anything since the Enkei RPF1 and federal 595s. Doesn't look like you're still on the Enkeis, not sure about the tyres...

Thanks Sam. Its certainly a wild handful now. Lights up 2nd like its on ice. Went to the track this morning for a shakedown and first time properly giving it a good squirt, it was lighting up the tyres in roll racing 3rd gear 140-160kph

Driving around town its spot on, its actually driving the best it ever has. Throttle MAP is set to 1:1 so the pedal is very responsive instead of the lazy factory pedal feel. Idle needed some work but is now very smooth.

    that's excellent, thank you - 225/50/16 has a diameter of 63.19cm, so I can run 205/55/16 with a diameter of 63.14 - problem solved!

apologies Louis - how thick are your spacers? IE +30 + ??mm

Just looking at the total offset... 16x7.5 +30 has the same inner clearance as the stock 16x6.5 which is handy.
