I remember reading you did the SAI delete too Louis, so that probably helps free up a bit of room. Might have a crack at that myself one day.

Keep up the good work mate, interested to hear what happens next
Thanks mate, I'll be sure to keep this up to date with any movements. Currently still just trying to track down an ECU to load the phase 3 when the time comes but it's proving to be a little harder then I thought. Hopefully one pops up soon

Being where the SAI is located I don't think it become removed helps a great deal for the TIP install, but I do agree, room is limited. I ended up clamping the piping onto the turbo from below the car, found it easier that way.

I was originally going to run a 50/50 mix with the MT90 as I had 1 litre of that already but when the shop I bought the oil off stuffed up and sent me a 1 Gallon bottle instead of a 1 Quart bottle, I decided to go all shockproof. Winning! It's like nothing I've seen before, smells like mint and is Aqua in colour, and one of the only oils on the market both GL4 and GL5 approved.
Whats the conclusion on the gearbox oil? Is the light weight Shockproof a bit better than the MT90?

In a similar situation with 1st to 2nd crunching on the odd occasion, only started after I hit around 60,000k's..
Where is the fill cap for the gearbox fluid?

I highly recommend it. My crunches 1st to 2nd were pretty severe when race changing. Since changing it hasn't crunched once, cold shifting is definitely better, and where a lot of oils start to struggle (with a lot of heat), the shockproof seems to get even better.

I can't say much for Shockproof vs MT90 because I never ran the MT90. I know a few guys have mixed the two 50/50, but seeing as I had enough to fill the whole box with the shockproof, I went with that.

The filler and drain holes are beneath the car, and you need to remove the lower plastic piece to get access. Both require a 17mm hex head allen key style attachment to undo them. You can see the drainage point on the previous page of this thread. The filler hole is towards the front of the car.

No worries mate, I think you'll be surprised at what oil alone can do

Today the battery on the POG got changed. After having it tested a couple weeks ago, I knew it was on its way out so I replaced it before it died on me. Went with a Deka ETX14 (same as Sean's Red Devil runs). They're pretty reasonably priced and seem to be a reliable choice for the polo.

Took a few pics of the two side by side to show the size difference. I made up a bracket using flat bar alloy to hold it down then used two pieces of 90 degree alloy bar to prevent it moving side to side

Love the liberal use of electrical tape on the intake pipe!

Only commented because I did the exact same thing. Electrical tape over duct tape because of the colour.

Few shots from this mornings happy laps. Thanks again to Gav for organising the event and the ALE Renda Photography for the pics. It was a good chance to feel the difference with the Pod in a box and the Forge Style TIP. The two combined with the cooler air temps made the car feel a little more lively and the top end felt a good chunk better. Coming off the track after the session the intake manifold was also very cool, could hold your hand on it indefinitely
