The vibratechnics mounts are stiff
I run the whole set, sure it vibrates a bit
But don't be a pussy about it
It'll be fine

hey Water Boy do you drive a Polo? I've been looking to see if any of the 9N's had manual windows and i'd swap over if it was going to save a good chunk of weight. If you went manual in a 9N I'd like to hear about it..
Yeah the vibrations won't bother me. The car won't be daily driven all that much anyways, maybe a couple days a week but I live less than 2kms from work so the car doesn't even get a chance to get warm.
I ended up modifying the stock dogbone mount to allow the engine to be rotated slightly more forward than what it is stock. This was to give some more clearance between the external wastegate and line from the brake reservoir to the clutch on the firewall. It also gave a little more clearance from parts of the firewall. It's rotated a minimal amount so won't effect the oil pickup line or any other crucial components for circulation.
Engine is now in for good, gearbox mounted, driveshafts bolted up, now moving onto clipping the wiring side of things back together and bolting bits and pieces back on.

thanks. yeah to be honest I don't know if they'd even be lighter and I wouldn't go to the effort if it was just a kg or two. I was astonished when I took the doors off my wreck and nearly blew another disc trying to carry them into the garage. I don't know if they're full of side intrusion bars or what but it was mental how heavy they were which got me thinking about whether its the electric gear that contributes to that. I have two spare doors that I can play with off the car so I might be able to figure something out.
Got to spend a few hours in the garage his afternoon. Starting to look like a car again![]()

Turbo to FMIC pipe work mocked up and ready to be welded. Plenty of room for the intake pipe to run underneath it while still allowing for access to the shifter cables etc rather than having to remove lots of stuff to gain access to it underneath. With the battery now in the boot, it’s made life so much easier for routing pipe work.
