Looking to buy a Polo - what I need to know?

    We're going to inspect a 1998 Polo 1.6L A03.
It's for my P-plater daughter. (I've made a new VW fan)

    This one

Is there anything about this model we should be aware of?

    Good and bad please?

Especially , should I check for rust? Where is it prone (if at all)

    Hi Karen try this link VWwA Used Car Guides Polo 6N 1996-2000 (1.6 GL & 1.6 Open Air) & 2001-2002 1.4 16V

-Just a tip Polo (6N) tyres are a unique size and can be pricey so just bear that in mind when buying perhaps if low in tread knock the buyer down abit.

-Check all areas where leaves can get and build up (under the bonnet for example). (Door Sills & Boot Sill)

-Check all electric items work especially windows as regulator could be broken.

-Check Radiator cap make sure its a brown-black underneath no white (could be blown headgasket)

-Dashlights like ABS go off after a few seconds after car has started up.

If in any doubt get a vehicle inspection.
