Interested in seeing what the little girl does
Have you considered water meth, im sure water meth and a intake manifold and throttle body combo will make her even even more aggressive.
It your turbo a one off, or will they make more if asked
MODS- TOO MANY
Don't think i'll go Meth but maybe some water and when CC finishes it's tune switching function I will be going down the E85 route for sure. For the IM and TB maybe down the track but a couple of other things need doing first
Here is a snap of the catch can hooked up and the PCV blanked off and soon to be deleted all together when the new TIP gets happening
How long do you think the rods will last or do you plan to wait till they break and change them
MODS- TOO MANY
Rods should be fine from the hundreds of hours I've spend researching both failures, hybrid and big turbo set ups on stock engines.
There is a great thread on Vortex dedicated to rod destruction and unless you have a 30+psi boost spike below 3000rpm it really isn't likely at all. Gav and I finished logging yesterday so I might have time to do up some graphs today, but we saw it make exactly what it was requesting boost wise so no spiking at all which is a good thing.
It all comes down to the turbo (ko4's are much worse than Ko3's for boost spiking and high EGT's do to the very restrictive hotside and exhaust manifold) and the tune (where boost and peak torque are made).
Here is the best example I found
Note the tuners comments;
Yes engine internals stock. Stock rods do handle torque figures up to 400Nm as long as these 400Nm come after 3500rpm, this was tested on quite enough projects. 2860RS with <1.5bar boost is best buddy for stock 20vt engine, while customer gathers monies to buy upgraded rods.
hopefully I can get some graphs done soon to show you the dynamics of this little beauty
Ok so hope I got these right
This graph is requested boost v's actual in psi
V's my CC Stage II data for comparison
And the new BHP figures graphed by converting the grams/sec readings at the MAF
Peaking at 282bhp with just the base file and no timing adjustments
Wow thats awesome you must be pretty happy.
So whats the converstion to hp from g/s
Not from an iPhone.

Some great numbers there. Good to see.
Looks as though the turbo is still pulling plenty of boost at 6000rpm whilst spooling at just over 2000rpm.
Makes it a good match for the motor.
Mate, with those numbers I still reckon rods would be cheap insurance!
YOLO.
Tune is written with the knowledge the motor is standard. Anthony is comfortable with the thing as is, partly based on the fact it'll be high rpm running mostly and not booting hard from low revs.
Rods is insurance but they are effectively a couple of grand by the time they are in there.
It's been a calculated decision.
