Yeah heaps apparently Clay. A hatchback coupled with a rear torsion beam suspension set up is no friend to efficient aerodynamics.
But doing my best to fix that
looks pretty hektik Ant.
I didn't realise how much under body restriction there was on these cars at speed.

Hi Ant, well done. Thought that you were going to vent the rear bar, somehow. More photos?
Any additional NVH from the vents? They look quite good.
Have you abandoned fully the idea of rear diffuser?
Cheers Al
Cheers Al! No more NVH than before luckily. Most of that was a result from ditching the rear seats. But that was soon drowned out by the turbo whistle and now the induction noise since the bonnet vents went in. For a small car it sure does sound angry
Yes I don't really think a perfectly functional rear diffuser is an option with this car. So the plan is to just get rid of anything from a drag perspective. All that's really left now is mounting the new muffler a bit higher in the tunnel as there's a tonne of room up in there
and moving the exhaust hanger next to the outlets to the right hand side between the muffler and spare wheel well
Thanks mate, they're another mod that I was a little worried about but thankfully worked out well. Haha yes it's a just a theme until next year I guess. The real pressure starts in the way learning how to drive in absolute anger to do all this prep work justice.
Got some better shots this morning
I'll finish painting the rest of the chassis black when I get a chance so it all looks nice and stealthy.
It's pretty clear these will do the job of evacuating the air pretty well
Have to say you got balls cutting holes in bonnets an bumpers :p
In saying that, great job! Undercar drag is something I hadn't even considered in the quest for speed! You've got your head screwed on for sure (Y)
Must admit I'm really surprised at how cohesive it looks considering it pulls on ideas from quite varying styles from the modding scene. The photo's don't do it justice as a complete package, but its functional and not rough on the eyes. I don't quite know how or why it works, but it does
Thanks Sean
I really need to get a camera (all iphone shots at this stage) and learn the art of motor vehicle photography as so many seem master easily!
