Yes the grilles came out to do the install (you need to remove them to get the stock fog lights out anyway). The driver's side requires one small screw to be removed and then pulls out, and the passenger's side is even easier - just pull firmly. No more than 30 seconds work to do both sides.

I'm going to have a stab at removing the fog lights and just replacing with some basic mesh to reduce the chance of stones damaging the SMIC.

Hoping to get a bit more airflow.

    Will post some Pics

Had a crack at replacing the fog lights with some mesh.

Not bad for my first attempt, but could do better next time (and with some wire/tin snips)

If anyone is interested i've got more pics.

As the car does not get driven hard enough to get heatsoak issues often, I don't know if I'll ever be able to recomend this or not... Guess I'll have to accept if I do notice anything could be placebo effect.

Don't think it would ever compare to a FMIC, but for the few dollars of hardware, worth a try.

hmm if you remove the other fog light (passenger side) you can use it for a cold air intake.

    Behind SMIC Outlet

Yeah, that one looks like it would work nicely...

I'm not too keen on the FMIC (from a $$$ POV), so this one suits my Budget

Anyone else tried this? heard any horror stories?

What did you use to mount the LEDs my man?

was it just double sided table or did you use brackets?

Well, thanks to Chrisuk-polo and too much time, I've done the wheel guard alteration

Although I don't drive hard often, with the APR V2 ecu flash, I wanted to keep the turbo as cool as possible (without a FMIC)

Thanks for the guide, it was very helpfull.
