Yeah axle tramp was atrocious on my stock front end bushes. Much improved with the superpro offsets set to anti-dive/anti-lift. I didn't find them much firmer to be honest but then I'm staying on stock springs which would dull any harshness down maybe. I noticed the dogbone poly bush upgrade but not the front end poly job to any great extent. It really sharpened up the steering feel and turn in response too.

If the superpro ones help reduce axle tramp and improve turn in, at the potential expense of making the ride a bit harder, then that to me is a fair trade off. Nothing worse than axle tramp when spinning up the first 3 gears.

I was just intending to do the rear lcas, but can't see any harm in doing the fronts as well at the same time.

For those playing the superpro card, what did you go for?

    Road or high performance?

Offset or anti lift? Superpro say the anti lift can give additional caster as well. Wondering how that is done, would you mount one side/both sides slightly offset to achieve this?

If you fit them with the eccentric pointing out, it pushes the lower balljoint forward, thus creating more castor.

It was a couple of years ago - don't remember which i've got.

I can see that working with the offset kit but would have thought if you do that with the anti lift kit you'd lose the anti lift benefit.
The offset kit is basically one standard and one offset bush, the anti lift is two offset bushes.

Would having the offset pointing down, as per the anti lift install instructions, create more castor?

I think I've answered my own q regarding the hardness, psi tuning only list the road ones so I'll get those.

The same offset super pro bush will do either anti-dive/anti-lift or castor. Its the same offset bush kit used in either set up. Its how you fit it that determines the geometry you get.
For anti-lift you fit the eccentric portion vertically down. This tilts the wishbone down quite a bit at the back. It does this so much so that I could barely get the new front LCA bolt through at all as I'd machined up tighter tolerance centers for bushes.
For castor you fit the eccentric to the outside of the bush console ie 90 degress around toward the hub from the anti-dive position. As Stuwey said this forces the ball joint forward giving more castor.
I had wondered if it was possible to fit them between the two positions ie 45 degrees around from the anti dive position to get the best of both worlds but didn't want to be a guinea pig on such a prick of a job.

Your last point was along the same lines I was thinking, as I couldn't see in the instructions how you'd get anti lift and castor at the same time.

Gavins post about his superpro bushes

Gavin's cheapy but getting more expensive GTI ;)

One of them is the 3273 anti lift, other looks like the standard 3271, if so you're running the offset kit?

Yes offset, hole at the bottom. This is the same as I set the red devil for Anthony.

Agree with Gav, I also definitely noticed significantly reduced axle tramping and the Polo powered on straight as an arrow, where it was pointed. I must say that the Eddys custom subframe bolts would assist as with this as well. Well worth doing.
    cheers Al
