What we need is a shop who can take a cooler and slap on some mounting points and extra piping to make a swap-over kit. That would require a donor car with the forge and some confirmed numbers of takers so the shop can quote up a kit.

If it came in around $300, I'd jump on it, but we would need to know it was a good core.

Looks nice but looks like a bit more work involved to fit it...

The thing about the SEAT FMIC is it bolts straight on, and you can even use the forge intercooler piping kit to fit it..

Do you have any data on the intercooler - I like the way it's VW designed to sit in front of the factory radiator, but traditionally diesel intercoolers are designed for 25 - 30psi of boost, we are talking on a Polo 14 - 22 psi. - need to see boost logs to make sure it doesn't do what the forge ones do.

$300 wont even get your flow testing done unfortunately.

I'm not after a production level cooler, just a reputable one.

In relation to the Seat cooler, I don't believe it's a straight bolt on. From memory, Instigator had forge do a kit for his. Expect it to be close to $2k landed for a Seat cooler with bolt on kit. For that money, go the APR.

A good search over on Vwvortex can provide you with the information you're looking for. However, i didnt see anything specificing hp rating, boost drop or volume of air; if this is what you're after. With this said, considering its size and core design it probably wouldn't be suited for a stg 1,stg 2 w/ standard turbo setup; personally i think it would be great for me, i am looking to upgrade to k04-2x size turbo; franken turbo may be the turbo i go with.

    Part numbers are as follows:

    Intercooler- 6LL145804
    Bracket- 6LL1458808C
    Bracket 6LL1458808B
Bolts to fit the brackets to the intercooler- N90280904

Also, a picture for your reference, http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/h...vrs/IMG082.jpg

looks impressive, you just need the internal pressure drop figures & that woudl be a winner!

I have just fitted the K04 to my Polo; it has BOV, PiperCross airfilter, 3in dump pipe, 4 bar fpr. The problem I have is it’s now blowing off all the pressure from the BOV at around 3000rpm so it’s not producing boost. At this time I only have the APR stage one software installed. If I get the new software for the K04 would this fix the problem or do you think it may be something different?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Look at Vagcom. Hard to know what the issue is, but sounds similar to limp mode.

You have more fuel and more boost, the ECU is not expecting either.

Tune should fix it, but depends on the issue.

a: remove the blow off valve.

    b: run the car again
