    Flaps and Pogo55. I cannot remember which of you had the Ko4 without a FMIC but how did you find the heatsoak effect on a flashed Ko3S vs a
    Ko4? My issue is do i get a FMIC prior to a Ko4...or enjoy the benefits of a Ko4 now and worry about a FMIC once summer approaches or if at all..$$$...hmm

    I went from a polo with only apr v1 flash to K04. Originally with no other supporting mods. I didn't notice the heatsoak being any worse with the K04. In the summer in Brizzy both would not run as well for as long compared to when it is cooler. I now have the APR downpipe and I did notice that the car was better at higher revs with this. I now also have the seat intake and K&N panel filter, but can't say I noticed much change with this. I am part of the Forge group buy going on at the moment, and I am hoping that the fmic will help keep it cooler for longer.
    I would suggest getting the K04 now and then the fmic at a later date. You will def. get more bang for your buck from the K04 than an fmic.

    I never said that was possible. I suppose you could try to breathe in outer space too, but I wouldn't recommend it.
    I was . I'll be doing another tuning companies software that specialises in custom tuning . Does not charge for 1 off ecus and creates the tune based on the hardware you have . Right now the only choice is stand alone , I dont beleive in stand alones on daily drivers . Its too costly to get right and there is very little safety functions . Another thing is they dont charge for R & D for overseas ECU's , so the price is at a reasonable level . Its looking at less than $1k for a reflash .


    As for running stock EGT , does your software run stock or close to stock EGTs ?

    Wow, a company that will fly to Australia & do one off calibrations - & be less than 1k - what a bargain! I have seen one off's done by experienced calibrators & they have taken anywhere from 12 to 120 hours, so thats an unbelievable price! Is it Unitronics? - let me know when they are flying down - would love to meet them.

    I guess it is a bargain . Different tuners use different ways to tune cars . Some beleive switching is extremely important , others believe having a good running car is more important .

    I'll let you know when they are flying in , could be a few times this year to sort out some tunes not available by any other tuner currently in Australia .

    So you have over 450 tunes , I should not have to be specific , unless of course your saying not all your tunes have the egt's running stock or close to it ? So you need to answer that Question . Do your tunes run stock or close to stock egts ?

    I do not understand this fight about EGT's.

    I believe once we give more power to the engine it will raise the EGT anyway.

    I think we should get worried when something melts, sparkplugs and the turbo shaft for example or if we have loss of power at extreme conditions. I’m using NGK number 9 and pushing all the fuel I can, to get the EGT as low as possible.

    Here in Brazil we have a big problem with ECU tuners. All the cars with custom software are able to produce a nice graphic on the dyno, however when they start to race, they leave a lot to desire. Because of that, stand alone injections are gaining space here. No dyno can replace a track!

    I had the opportunity to use B&B Automobiltechnik and APR software here in Brazil and there is nothing compared to them in the custom market.

    You have to see the repercussion around here about my car scratching the 290hp with gasoline as fuel. The best gasoline available here have 95oct and it distributed just by one company, so it is considerably more expensive and it is not available everywhere. Here we have alcohol ethylic in the fuel pump delivering 104oct and it is cheap! So all the tuners choose alcohol as fuel, because it is easier and safer to get more power, but they never achieve satisfactory results in my opinion.

    We were experiencing some problems with the F430 GT3, just because a bad ECU tune from factory, we were making the pistons get out thought the exhaust pipe. Here the air temperature is higher and the fuel is not like the one found in Europe, so all Ferrari engines were losing a lot of power in the heat of race and in some cases they were exploding.

    So in this case, I believe the best software is the one who makes the car produce the desired power during the entire race. If yours products are achieving this objective be happy, because we, your costumers, will be happy too!
