Correct. I'm not sure if I had a code that was getting in the way, but certainly noticed the difference after.

Hmm interesting might give it a go. Any other errors or problems that may arise as a result of the battery disconnection that I should be aware of then?

I've noticed in your signature that you don't have a FMIC set up as yet. On the surface, it may seem like big $$ (about a $1,000 installed) for a few KW, but actually that's far from true.

Dyno runs that we did showed a car with the same mods as mine but with a FMIC was pulling about 5kW atw over me......BUT.... that's when the car is running cold. In real life conditions, you only have your car running cold for about the first 3 mins of driving, and then heatsoak sets right in. Once they heatsoaked my car on the day, my power dropped from 124kW atw right down to about 100kW atw and stayed around that figure, whilst the FMIC'd car stayed constant at about 130kW atw after the same amount of runs.

So at the end of the day, about $1k for a constant ~30kW gain ATW in the conditions which are closest to 'true life'..... that to me is a little money for a big gain... more so actually than getting chipped!!

    Food for thought noone.

    2 things:

1: My electric windows seem to forget they can go up and down with the 2 stage click rather than me holding it.

2: The stereo will ask for the security code.

Funny timing, installed one yesterday. A little more power from cold, slightly different torque curve, but keeping power after 5 mins of spirited driving is what I'm looking for.

    Have to update the sig.

Run the windows all the way down and then all the way back up and then it will work again. Happened to me when i ran my battery flat. Twice.

Don't bother ... its not worth the extra $$$ you'll be spending ...
Ontop of the added lag of the Ko4.

    Not worth it.

someone also mentioned to me before that having an FMIC means that things are running slightly cooler and this is kinder to the engine (apologies for the large amount of generalization as i wasn't too clear on the details). is this true?

    Slappy Dunbar

I caught a thread on Turbo comparisons last night, was interesting. From there I discovered this:

If you are up for a read of the thread I was reading, its here

Some interesting insight from Slappy, looks like an interesting product he's put together.

I'm assuming as this turbo's flow is quite different to many others, it would need a custom map?

a polo with airfilter, full exhaust, intercooler and chiptuning wich runs on K03S can get 230 - 250Hp at max (not recommended)
the same polo with K04-001 can reach 240 - 275Hpmax.
i even know a person who has 278Hp and 425nM.
he never had problem since the +- 3 years he has the car.
but i still not recommend to go that high with a K04...

K04-023 fom S3/TT225 can easy reach that sort of power but it's not suitable in a Polo GTI.
turbo sits on the other side of the manifold were a Polo GTI has his ABS system. (not sure but i thought it was the ABS that sits in the way)
to bad because it would be a good set up for a polo...
