K&N gave me the wrong filter

I just got my K&N filter and on installing it found they gave me the right filter just it doesnt fit due to be the wrong shape and size, the one they gave me is a long panel type, and the one in my TDi 2008 is 5 sided and more of a block shape. I had a look on the K&N website and all the other filters for the polo are just like the one they gave me. is there something im doing wrong?

which one did you order? do you have the part number from the original order invoice?

The part number was 33-2865, this was what the website came up with for the diesel 1.9, http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=33-2830

Yes the one on the K&N site (33-2830) is the one in the polo gti and and 99% sure TDI. Thats the one you should have got. I assume the sent you the 33-2865 which is the wrong one.

Its just when you said it had 5 sides it made me curious.

33-2830 is the GTI 1.8T filter
33-2865 is for various diesel VW's, but no mention of the Polo TDI anywhere on the K&N website.

take a pic of your original, and we can tell you if its the same as the GTI filter. Or just compare the dimensions to those on the K&N site.

I have been able to track down the right filter finally!! the part number for 2008 polo tdi or gti is 33-2830. the same as what grant and shaneth had.
