Its so hard finding the right wheels.

Been thinking of the wheels for a while and its very hard to find the right wheels with the correct mix of the following; price, style, wife's tastes and approval, fitment onto the car i.e. no scrubbing etc. Originally wanted the RS4 style wheels but was told that it would not fit due to offset. Also was thinking of the Lenso DC5 or DC6 17" wheels (as 18" don't fit) but don't know if the offset of 45 would be suitable for the Polo Gti as everyone's telling me a different story. Some say it will fit perfectly and won't cause rubbing and is also perfect fitment if I'm lowering etc whilst another says 45 offset is too much and will cause tracking of the car and that I should stick with wheels with offsets between 38-43. Enkei wheels are just way too expensive. Was also wanting the Mk4 R32 wheels but they don't fit either. I did manage to find a set of awesome looking multispoke wheels and was told they would fit but the retailer seemed a bit iffy and wouldn't provide certain answers i.e. offset etc and it doesnt have any centre wheel cap cover thereby leaving the hub cover and part of the disc hub exposed hence seeing the rusty bits. Those guys say it gives the car a race look but i think its just ugly. If it weren't for those issues, I would've got em yesterday.

So, at the moment, the ones I'm going for this week will the the Lenso Muse style wheels made by HR racing which does come in the perfect fitment configuration that will not cause rubbing or any problems (as I was told). It pretty much looks identical to the these wheels in the link:

Let me know what you think guys. Your opinion is much appreciated. Anybody able to photoshop these wheels onto a silver polo gti? I'm clueless when it comes to photoshop. Thanks in advance to anyone who can

P.S. I'll be lowering the car by 35mm with the Bilstein and HR combo setup soon and colour coding the bumpers but not getting the front lip. Oh and my car is silver.

I just put new 17's on mine with a ET40 offset. Needed 5mm spacers so they'd clear the brakes. Using an offset calc the perfect offset for the Polo when going to a 17x7 was ET32 (same internal clearance and an extra 12mm of poke).

I didn't mind too much about the spacers but I'll see how everything goes when I upgrade the brakes.
    Cheers,

    John

It is, the part number at the end of the URL matches up and they are Lenso Muse wheels.

Yeah thats the right wheels. Thanks guys for the photo shopping. Much better idea how it may look now. Gotta show my wife and see what she thinks of them. I rekon they're alright but would still prefer something with more spokes to fill up the spaces as the the polo's body panels are quite wide and plain.

Nice if you had an Evo or WRX but I don't think the design would suit the Pog (but then again I've got 9 spoke rims and I love them )
    Cheers,
