I know! The camera drives me nuts iPad dash install

Im going to put the switches and the little Bluetooth interface just under the heater controls where it steps back behind the gear shifter.. I'll try find a pick of the interface. It looks pretty nice. It's similar to this one.. I originally wanted this one but it's only 2 channel..

Oh, and I was going to put the charger cable in there but this is an iPad 2 with the old charger so I probably won't bother until I get a newer model with the lighting cable..

Just got a bit of primer on. Showed up some pin holes and stuff that I can now fill. Hopefully get some paint on during the week and I'll line the iPad part with some sort of material or do it in plastidip so it's not so hard on the iPad

Just started my first coats of clear.. I ended up just using enamel paint and if i don't like the finish I will wet sand and buff it. It's looking ok though.. Good enough for me.

Just had a quick read through and very nice work! How do you intend to fix the ipad in place? I wonder if you could integrate some strong magnets behind the dash to hold the metal backing of the ipad? That way the Ipad would still be easily removable. You could use some kind of soft grippy rubber to sit between the ipad and plastic dash surface, to further help stop it sliding up/down when driving

Yeah that exactly what I'm doing. The magnets arrived yesterday but are way to small so I've ordered bigger ones and I'm spraying the part the iPad sits with plastidip which is a spray on rubber coating. Hopefully works out ok
