Intermittent Battery Light Flashing........Blown Fusible Link

    Hi all,

Had an electrical issue start last night where the battery light would come on for 2-3sec at a time hile driving. Happened twice during 2 drives.

Anyway tonight I broke open the fuse box, fusible links and battery terminals, I found the following:

Can anyone tell me what this feeds? I can't find wiring diagrams online. It's weird that it has heated and melted, before it blew????

I will get the replacement link from VW tomorrow and may have to replace the plastic surround too.

was the nut tight as a loose one would allow it to heat up

It's going to be something that carries high current. Most likely to the starter motor. I'd be checking the wiring down there for a loose connection.
