    Interior Light Issues

Afternoon all.. Strange one for you lot to ponder.

Unlock the (drivers) door with one press of the key fob, and my passenger door unlocks too. Then, once the LH door is open, the interior light does not come on. Still works woth the drivers door, though.

Also - does your boost gauge rattle? I spent money buying a 'good' Stack unit, but bloody hell the rattling drives me nuts

    Any clues?

My New South Performance gauge initially rattled - got a replacement, and after about a month, rattles exactly the way the first one did. Annoying. Thinking of removing it but then I want to know how much boost I am running...

Ah, rattles. Sounds like the device, not the mounting. Felt tape, non slip mat and modelling clay all help with normal rattles, but not sure these will help your fun...

Strange on the lights, could be the door sensor? Does the door dash light come on?

I've fixed many rattles - een had the dash out myself, for what turned out to be the glovebox lid.

This is from inside the gauge itself. I wasn't sure if it was just me, or if every boost gauge did the same (which it sounds like it may well be the case)

The interior light has me stumped, as there isn't a proper plunger switch like we're used to.

i have this problem since a few months after owning the pog. some days it's fine, some days it would do exactly like how you described, and you know our polo will auto lock all doors after 20km/h, the LH door will either stay unlocked, or it would lock for a while and unlock itself after a few seconds. it's an intermittent problem. when it does this, i just reach my arm to lock it manually, or just press the lock/unlock button on the driver's door until the LH door stays locked (usually 3 or 4 cycles of pressing the button will do).

don't take my word for this, but i suspect it could be the door lock control module (not sure what the correct name is). google around and you will find the same problem in golf mk4, LH door going haywire. strange that it only affects the one door, not the others.

i never got around to fixing this problem, doesn't bother me that much. at least it does not do this when i leave the car and lock using the key fob.

hope that shed some light for you
