cheers guy, am I right to assume APR FMIC's have proven reliable after a day at the track in maintaining underbonnet (radiator) temps safely?

I can attest to the fact that my FMIC (non-APR) after a day at the track in Warwick, 5 sessions on the day, each with 12-15 laps, had no impact on water temps in the radiator. In fact the needle did not even budge off its normal operating temp spot.

Since I did not see any smoke or other vapours from Eddy's car (APR FMIC) and did not hear any complaints from him on the day I am pretty confident in attesting to the fact that the APR FMIC also has no impact on water temps after a day at the track.

Me with my pleb-like stock intercooler also had no issues (keeping up with Eddy that is )

No probs on our K04 Polo, we did two big track days (40 laps at QR, and 35 laps at Warwick) before running it in the Dutton rally series - three sets of brakes, and 4 sets of tyres . Temps were good!

You should be giving me those brakes rather than using them up like that.

why did i even bother starting this thread? it got hijacked and then thrown far off topic.

obviously no-one is interested in any of the products i found apart from a 'maybe' on the TIP, so i will close this very soon.

anyones 'how do APR FMIC's handle track days?' questions can be asked via PM or a new thread thanks.

and thank you sharkie for starting your own thread re: EOI Polo GTI FMIC's!

I was interested in the intercooler kit, but my accident and subsequent paying of my extra "Performance Car" excess of $450 on top of my normal $400 excess put paid to me chasing it any further for the next few months.

My apologies for thinking my question entirely off topic, in the vane of the conversation it thought it was a relevent question to those of us trying to compare what you are offering (at a very reasonable price) to those that are considerably more.

Thanks for flaming a new member.

So back on topic, have these FMIC's been proving on the track in similar conditions as the above?

I don't think it was quite a flaming...He was just getting a point across. Until you have have had a thread go way off topic and turn to clag(just look at Shaneths Dyno Sheet thread, or any Dyno thread for that matter!!), you will see that it is annoying as hell. I don't mean to sound rude toward you man, sorry if I did.
About the airflow through the radiator, give the guys at the site an email and endevour to find out.

its not my product mate, as the post says its just something i found on the internet.

definitely no flaming going on, especially not to you as the post was not even nearly aimed at you. if you read the first page again you will figure out who it was for.

as ryan said, until it happens to you, you won't understand, it's just bloody annoying.... and unfortunately it happens to almost every thread.
